I get the following: "It appears the name or account number has changed for one or more of your accounts. Mint should automatically discover and reconcile these accounts." However, nothing has changed on the Chase website, with my account, or with my credentials.
Chase Bank is the LARGEST personal banking financial institution in the U.S. Intuit should be EMBEDDED with the IT security team to keep up to date with secure online access protocols. I'm afraid there is no financial software company that can keep up with the recent evolution of online bank access problems.
No changes to my account. I get this response when trying to fix:
"We can't find your account. If you recently closed an account, please set the status to "Closed" in the account details below. You may also see this message if your account name or number recently changed, in that case we will automatically try to detect your new account."
My chase credit account will not sync with mint either. It says that they do not have the correct user name and password, and they cannot connect, however my username and password is working to sign into the chase site and other financial planning software. When will mint get it together with chase? I know this is not happening to everyone with chase cards. I called chase and they couldnt really help me, but did say I have no holds on my account and everything is fine from their end.
This is more a Chase issue than a Mint issue. There was a report in the WSJ about how Chase has enacted stricter policies related to aggregators like Mint accessing Chase accounts. There are two reasons for this: (1) Chase is rightly concerned about compromised accounts via a third party over which it has no control; and (2) third-party aggregators tend to tax banks' resources.
Regardless, it is a pain not to have routine updates of accounts, including Chase, via Mint.
That may be true about Chase but it's still Mint's issue. It's Mint whose product is experiencing problems; it's Mint whose promise to customers (aggregation of their account info, including Chase) isn't being kept. If Chase has a stricter security standard it's Mint who has the responsibility to work with them to find a way to work with that, or tell their customers they have exceptions to their service ("We don't work with Chase").
Right, but we don't know the details. Chase could have easily "turned off" access to Mint without any warning. And for all we know, Chase could be holding an obstinate position.
Regardless, I don't think Mint promised wholly uninterrupted service to any specific accounts, as they can't control how each bank treats access to account info. Let's hope this gets resolved soon.
this IS a MINT issue. there IS an alternative: Personal Capital... no budgeting but they do not have the same connection problems as Intuit. I just deleted all of my info with Mint and am now using PC. If you don't evolve, you will be left behind.
I have personal capital and my chase accounts are not updating there either. I really think this is a chase issue, I'm very close to leaving them for good.
All but one of my accounts are through Chase so this is crippling functionality completely. I'm not going to change banks since I have so much involved. If this doesn't get fixed I will have to go back to downloading from Chase and using a software accounting app. WHY don't all banks use the "read only" code like CapitalOne does? Works perfectly and is secure.
People come to Mint for help and answers—we want to let them know that we're here to listen and share our knowledge. We do that with the style and format of our responses. Here are five guidelines:
Keep it conversational. When answering questions, write like you speak. Imagine you're explaining something to a trusted friend, using simple, everyday language. Avoid jargon and technical terms when possible. When no other word will do, explain technical terms in plain English.
Be clear and state the answer right up front. Ask yourself what specific information the person really needs and then provide it. Stick to the topic and avoid unnecessary details. Break information down into a numbered or bulleted list and highlight the most important details in bold.
Be concise. Aim for no more than two short sentences in a paragraph, and try to keep paragraphs to two lines. A wall of text can look intimidating and many won't read it, so break it up. It's okay to link to other resources for more details, but avoid giving answers that contain little more than a link.
Be a good listener. When people post very general questions, take a second to try to understand what they're really looking for. Then, provide a response that guides them to the best possible outcome.
Be encouraging and positive. Look for ways to eliminate uncertainty by anticipating people's concerns. Make it apparent that we really like helping them achieve positive outcomes.

I am getting the same issue--notice that before this happened-my Chase Available Balance was totally wrong. Anyone else see that?
