Due to recent site changes of Wells Fargo we are unable to update/add your accounts in Mint. Our engineers are working to resolve it and we’ll be sure to notify you as soon as the status changes.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this causes in the meantime.
Hello Mint. Respectfully, would you be willing to issue the users an update on the time frame that you expect to have this problem with updating Well Fargo patron accounts? The folks that bank at wells fargo are understandably frustrated being that this particular problem affects nearly ALL of the financials at its core. Please let us know a general timeframe that we can all expect to have this problem resolved. Thank you.
Still waiting on update/sync, please, I'm starting to look at alternatives to mint, due to my impatience of course and because this is annoying me at this point. I've known about the site change for awhile now with preview they were showing us, it was coming we were all warned, I guess not mint?
Well... "scrambling" would be an exaggeration. The frustration here lies in their lack of communication to date. We all prefer transparency as opposed to half-hearted hacks. Normally you would give a company a benefit of the doubt, but this issue has been on-going for weeks.
If it's any consolation, Personal Capital is having the same issue with Wells Fargo for about a week now. It's listed as a known issue on their site too.
I am also having trouble connecting to my Wells Fargo 401(k) account through Mint. I'm suspecting it's not just Mint's fault because I'm experiencing the same connectivity issue between Wells Fargo and other services such as Betterment, Wealthfront, Personal Capital, FutureAdvisor, etc. I'll just add this comment here so I'll get notified once the issue is resolved. Thanks.
Hi, I was able to fix the connection issue by creating a guest user account at Wells Fargo website and using the guest username and password to access Wells Fargo data through Mint. You can find the guest user set up under More (top right corner) > Accounts and Settings > Profile and Settings > Manage Online Settings > Use account access manager > Guest users > Add new user. Don't forget to change the access level from no access (default) to view only.
Hi ahmadcpa, Thankfully, no duplication of transactions occurred to me. Instead of adding a new account by clicking "+ ADD ACCOUNT" in Mint.com, I entered the newly created guest username and password in "EDIT PASSWORD" in my existing Wells Fargo account within the gear symbol next to the Wells Fargo logo under Settings > Your accounts in Mint.com.
Just confirmed "welcometosd" has it! Actually I like this A LOT better. I'd rather third party systems have "view only" access to my accounts anyway. No reason Mint should hold the keys (passwords) to the kingdom! If (when) they get hacked the hackers only have "view only" access to our accounts. Hopefully other financial institutions follow suit to Wells Fargo!
And thanks, welcometosd!!!!!!!! I finally see my info again. No duplicate transactions. I just changed the username/password for Wells Fargo and it connected again. FINALLY!!!
welcometosd's helpful solution is only a partial fix for those with WF brokerage accounts. Guest accounts can only view brokerage account balances. They cannot view individual brokerage transactions or positions.
Even using the "read only" account, I am still not able to see neither the Wells IRA nor the brokerage account on mint. I see only checking and savings.
I'm glad to see some people having success with the guest user account. Has anyone been able to access WF retirement accounts (401(k), etc.) from Mint through this method? I created a guest user account but when I sign on to the WF website with the newly created guest account, I get an "Our System is currently unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please try again later" error message. It doesn't work with Mint, either. I don't know if this problem is unique to retirement savings accounts or not.
Things are working for me but now my credit card rewards account is syncing to Mint when it never did before. It's showing the number of points as $$. Is this happening to anyone else?
My WF transactions for the last month are ok, but everything up to and including June 2016 is still duplicated. This totally screws up my transactions, net spending, etc. for everything before the last month. Is anyone else seeing this?
Also, I've tried to change my Mint WF login to my WF guest account, as welcometosd suggested. But when I click in "Edit password" for my WF account under "Settings", the boxes for the User ID and Password don't appear. All I get is the "Continue" button, which doesn't do anything when I click on it. When I click "Edit password" for my other linked accounts, the User ID and Password boxes do show up, and I can change them if I want.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
I'm still very frustrated with the whole situation.
electriclight is right ... last couple months are ok, but transactions prior and including June are duplicated. Not every single transaction appears duplicated but most are.
This is ridiculous it's been over a month. Can someone provide an update that works at Mint? I'm giving it through the week then I'm changing apps. Does anyone have any recommendations?
only some of my Wells Fargo accounts are updating. Any ideas how to fix? Do I need to delete the accounts then add them back? This does not sound good.
People come to Mint for help and answers—we want to let them know that we're here to listen and share our knowledge. We do that with the style and format of our responses. Here are five guidelines:
Keep it conversational. When answering questions, write like you speak. Imagine you're explaining something to a trusted friend, using simple, everyday language. Avoid jargon and technical terms when possible. When no other word will do, explain technical terms in plain English.
Be clear and state the answer right up front. Ask yourself what specific information the person really needs and then provide it. Stick to the topic and avoid unnecessary details. Break information down into a numbered or bulleted list and highlight the most important details in bold.
Be concise. Aim for no more than two short sentences in a paragraph, and try to keep paragraphs to two lines. A wall of text can look intimidating and many won't read it, so break it up. It's okay to link to other resources for more details, but avoid giving answers that contain little more than a link.
Be a good listener. When people post very general questions, take a second to try to understand what they're really looking for. Then, provide a response that guides them to the best possible outcome.
Be encouraging and positive. Look for ways to eliminate uncertainty by anticipating people's concerns. Make it apparent that we really like helping them achieve positive outcomes.
