Switch my UMB HSA account from "cash" category to "investments"
Currently my UMB HSA account is shown under the "cash" account type and I would like the option to re-categorize it to "investments" or really anywhere besides "cash". Is this possible?
My cash accounts (checking/savings) fluctuate on a day to day basis and I would like to see my cash account be a total of my checking/savings accounts. This reflects my true buying power / liquid cash / whatever you want to call it. Although my HSA would be in the same category as my checking / savings accounts ("liquid cash" etc.), because of the obvious restrictions on this account and my limited use of it, I do not want the HSA to be included in the cash account total.
With the current account options, I would put the HSA with "investments" accounts even though that maybe doesn't quite properly reflect exactly what it is. It wouldn't really matter to me what account type it ends up in so long as: it is not grouped with cash accounts, gets updated along with everything else, contributes to my net worth.
In essence, I cannot buy groceries, pay rent, put gas in my car with my HSA and don't want it grouped in with those accounts.
